What The Wall Path is, and isn't
The Wall Path is a planning resource built around one specific trail — not a general UK travel blog, and not a booking platform. Most Hadrian's Wall Path content online falls into two categories: a walking-holiday operator's sales page, understandably built to sell a package, or a personal travel blog recounting one person's specific trip. Neither is quite what someone deciding whether to walk two days or eight needs first. The Wall Path exists to answer the planning questions directly — how far each stage is, what each fort costs and requires, which stretch is worth prioritising if you can't walk all of it — without steering you toward a specific operator or itinerary length.
How the content is put together
Every distance, date, and historical claim on this site is checked against a real, named source before publication — National Trails' own trail information, English Heritage and the Vindolanda Trust's own site pages, Northumberland National Park Authority, and Wikipedia's sourced entries for the wall and its forts, among others. Where sources disagree slightly (stage mileages, in particular, vary a little operator to operator depending on exact overnight stops), we say so rather than presenting one figure as the only truth.
What this site deliberately doesn't do
We don't sell walking holidays, baggage-transfer bookings, or accommodation, and we're not paid to rank the operators we mention. We don't cover casino, betting, or any gambling-adjacent content, and we won't. We also don't claim to be the National Trail's own website, English Heritage, the National Trust, or the Vindolanda Trust — independent pages that reference their sites should never be mistaken for them.
Corrections
Trail conditions, opening hours, and operator details change. If you spot something out of date, the contact page reaches a person who reads it, not an automated queue.
